Export Readiness Certificate: What It Means for Buyers of Indonesian Shisha Charcoal

Certificate details verified against the electronic Sertifikat Kesiapan Ekspor issued on 27 October 2026 (Jakarta). Buyers can request a copy and scan the QR code to confirm authenticity.
When you source hookah charcoal from Indonesia, you are not only choosing a cube size or an ash figure. You are choosing a factory that can document, produce and ship on time, container after container. That is why government export-readiness assessments matter to brand owners, importers, distributors and private-label clients. Today we are sharing news that speaks directly to that risk: Glowing Charcoal Indonesia (PT Bara Coco Agronesia) has received the highest readiness level under the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia’s Cek Ekspor (ERAT) programme — Established Exportir — with Export Readiness Certificate number ERAT/KMD/2026/10/43849.
This article explains what the certificate is, what it is not, and how an Indonesian shisha charcoal exporter at the top ERAT level can lower sourcing risk for overseas buyers.
What Is Cek Ekspor (ERAT)?
Cek Ekspor, also known as the Export Readiness Assessment Tool (ERAT), is a digital instrument from Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade (Kementerian Perdagangan RI). It sits under the Directorate General of National Export Development (Direktorat Jenderal Pengembangan Ekspor Nasional, Ditjen PEN) and is accessed through the Trade Information System / InaExport portal at sip.kemendag.go.id.
According to the Ministry’s own announcements, ERAT was launched to help Indonesian companies — especially MSMEs — measure whether they are ready to export. On the InaExport platform it is described as a self-assessment tool used to map export readiness and to identify where a company may still need coaching, financing, promotion or market facilitation. Completing the assessment is also part of the path to a verified InaExport exporter profile, which international buyers and Indonesian trade representatives can use when looking for suppliers.
The Cek Ekspor (ERAT) assessment ranks companies by export readiness. The levels run from beginner through to the top tier. Public reporting that cites Ministry guidance lists four Indonesian categories — Eksportir Pemula (beginner), Eksportir Potensial (potential), Eksportir Berkembang (developing) and Eksportir Terbukti (proven) — and the electronic certificate issued by the Ministry’s system shows the highest level in English as Established Exportir.
Glowing Charcoal Indonesia received that top level. Our Sertifikat Kesiapan Ekspor is an electronic issuance from the Trade Information System, dated Jakarta, 27 October 2026, and it can be verified by scanning the QR code on the certificate.

What the Certificate Is — and What It Is Not
Clarity matters here, because overseas buyers often see the word “certificate” and assume it means product quality, food safety or an ISO-style management system. That is not what this document is.
It is an export-readiness recognition from Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade, based on the Cek Ekspor (ERAT) assessment. It confirms that Glowing Charcoal Indonesia was assessed for readiness to operate as an exporter and placed at the highest level, Established Exportir. It is issued electronically and can be checked independently through the QR code.
It is not a product quality certificate, a laboratory test report, a food-safety approval, an organic claim, or an ISO / HACCP / GMP certificate. It does not replace ash, moisture or calorific-value data for the charcoal itself. Those product specifications still come from the factory’s own grade sheet and, where you request them, from laboratory results on the lot you are buying.
Think of it as a government signal about the exporter’s readiness to do international business — documentation culture, export process familiarity and standing in the national export ecosystem — not as a stamp that says “this cube burns perfectly.” Product performance still has to be verified with samples and clear specs.
Why Export Readiness Matters for Shisha Buyers
Shisha charcoal looks simple on a lounge table. Behind every carton, though, sits a chain of export steps that can go wrong: incomplete commercial documents, late loading, confusion over dangerous-goods marking (charcoal ships as UN 1361), or a supplier who cannot keep the same ash and size from one container to the next.
Choosing an Indonesian manufacturer that has reached the highest Ministry export-readiness level does not remove every risk, but it does address a common one: working with a seller who has never really exported, or who cannot show that they operate inside Indonesia’s formal trade systems. For brand owners and distributors, that translates into practical advantages:
- Documentation confidence. An established exporter is expected to handle the routine export paperwork buyers and freight forwarders ask for — commercial invoice, packing list, export declaration (PEB), bill of lading, and certificates of origin when a destination requires them. Our separate guide to required documents when importing charcoal from Indonesia walks through the typical set.
- Shipping reliability. Containers leave on a calendar. A factory that already works to FOB terms, deposits and pre-loading balances is more likely to hit the window you planned with your forwarder.
- Lower “unknown supplier” risk. Trade offices, InaExport inquiries and Ministry programmes all favour companies that appear in the official systems. A verifiable readiness certificate at the top ERAT level is one more check a cautious buyer can run before wiring a deposit.
- Better fit for private label. Private-label programmes need repeatable production, not one-off samples. Export readiness sits alongside capacity and process discipline — the same qualities you need when your brand name is on the box.

About Glowing Charcoal Indonesia
Glowing Charcoal Indonesia is the trading name of PT Bara Coco Agronesia. We have manufactured coconut shell charcoal briquettes for shisha and hookah since 2016, from our factory in Jepara, Central Java. We supply brand owners, importers and distributors, including full private-label programmes (size, packaging and artwork to the buyer’s brief). We also exhibited at Trade Expo Indonesia 2025, the Ministry of Trade’s flagship B2B export exhibition.
Our shisha charcoal is made from 100% coconut shell with no hardwood blend. Shells are sourced from Sumatra or Sulawesi. For our Diamond grade, the key figures we work to are:
| Specification | Diamond grade |
|---|---|
| Raw material | 100% coconut shell (Sumatra or Sulawesi) |
| Ash content | 1.6–2% |
| Moisture | Under 6% |
| Calorific value | About 8,000 kcal/kg |
| Production capacity | 8–10 tons per day |
Commercial terms for container orders are straightforward and bank-based only:
- Incoterms: FOB Semarang
- MOQ: 18 tons per 20ft container
- Lead time: 28–35 days from deposit
- Payment: 50% deposit, balance due 5 days before loading by telegraphic transfer (T/T), or an irrevocable letter of credit at sight
- Bank transfer only — we do not accept PayPal
For how MOQ and lead time interact with your sales calendar, see MOQ, lead time and consistency. Product details for our shisha range are on the coconut charcoal briquette for shisha page.
How Buyers Can Use the Certificate
We treat the certificate as a transparency tool, not a marketing slogan. If you are evaluating us as an Indonesian shisha charcoal exporter, you can:
- Ask us for a PDF copy of Sertifikat Kesiapan Ekspor no. ERAT/KMD/2026/10/43849, showing the highest readiness level, Established Exportir.
- Scan the QR code on the document to confirm it against the Ministry’s electronic record.
- Pair that check with the usual commercial due diligence: written specifications, production samples, payment terms and, if you wish, a third-party pre-shipment inspection.
That sequence — government readiness check, then product and logistics verification — is how serious buyers reduce both “who is this company?” risk and “will this charcoal perform?” risk without confusing the two.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Export Readiness Certificate the same as ISO or a quality certificate?
No. It is an assessment of export readiness by Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade through Cek Ekspor (ERAT). It does not certify ash content, food safety, organic status or an ISO management system. Product quality should still be confirmed with your specification sheet, samples and any laboratory reports you request.
What does “Established Exportir” mean on the certificate?
It is the highest readiness level on the Cek Ekspor (ERAT) assessment. Our electronic Sertifikat Kesiapan Ekspor (no. ERAT/KMD/2026/10/43849), issued on 27 October 2026 in Jakarta, shows Glowing Charcoal Indonesia at that top level. The assessment also has lower tiers; Established Exportir is the highest. We invite buyers to verify the document via its QR code.
Can I verify the certificate myself?
Yes. The certificate states that it was issued electronically by the Trade Information System and can be verified through the QR code on the document. We are happy to email you a copy so your compliance or purchasing team can check it.
Does this change our product specifications or prices?
No. Diamond grade remains 100% coconut shell, ash 1.6–2%, moisture under 6% and about 8,000 kcal/kg, with capacity of 8–10 tons per day. Commercial terms (FOB Semarang, MOQ 18 tons per 20ft, 28–35 days from deposit, 50% deposit and balance 5 days before loading) are unchanged. We do not publish prices on the blog; quotes are issued case by case.
Do you offer private label for shisha charcoal?
Yes. We produce for brand owners who need their own size, packaging and artwork, within the MOQ and lead-time framework above. Tell us your cube size, pack format and destination market when you request a quote.
